A Thriving Rural North Carolina through a Trusted Network

Founded in 2019 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UNC Rural serves our state by connecting rural communities with campus partners and resources. We share a vision of a thriving rural NC supported by a trusted network of community-campus partners. We work towards this by offering programs and tools to strengthen partnerships that advance rural well-being.

UNC Rural Programming

Our work honors the University’s mission to serve our state which has the second largest rural population in the U.S. We utilize the Thrive Rural Framework as a starting point to a shared approach to engage on vital issues. Our programming evolves based on the needs of our rural communities and community-campus partners.
